What's the equation for ergonomic seating in a university laboratory? One school uses the formula:

Chemical Resistance + Seat-Height Adjustability = BioFit 4L.

Laboratory users there move back and forth between a lab bench, working with chemicals, and a nearby desk, working with data. They require adjustable seating so they can be equally comfortable working at bench heights and lower desk heights. This adjustable seating needs to be durable and chemical-resistant.

BioFit met these requirements with its 4L Series ergonomic chairs with seat and backrest of molded urethane. These self-skinned urethane chairs are easy to wash down, stain-resistant and resistant to damage from chemicals.

[Lab workers] require adjustable seating so they can be equally comfortable working at bench heights and lower desk heights.

They're also designed for comfort with a seat having ventilation ribs, a full waterfall front and shaped rear for even weight distribution.

The backrest provides lumbar support.

Controls enable a seated student or instructor to easily adjust backrest height and tilt, as well as seat height . . . making the 4L a perfect fit in this laboratory, at either a bench or a desk.

Clinical environments
Because chairs can't be autoclaved, they must handle the chemicals and disinfectants that are needed for sterile work areas.

For this reason, hospital laboratory seating has to be durable and most often, chrome plated. Not all medical laboratories set sterile criteria, but Biofit products are perfectly suited for both sterile and non-sterile settings.

Task Control
This control is standard on most BioFit chairs.

You can use the mechanism to adjust the backrest tilt to the angle that provides the most comfort and support.

Adjustments can be made by touching a control paddle under the seat with one hand while seated in the chair.

You can use a second paddle under the seat to adjust seat height, also while seated.

The backrest tilt and seat height can be adjusted independently and lock in the positions you select.

You can adjust backrest height with a control knob on the back of the chair.

OPTIONS: Quick ship models available. Biofit chairs are offered in fabric or vinyl. Static-dissipating fabric, ESD, breathable, and various levels of cleanroom specifications are available.

Slightly larger seat size than the 1P: 3" thick and features 4-way contouring, waterfall front edge and internal seat board bumperguard. Shown in grade 2, with vinyl seat 19-26". Also available 29"-34" high, no casters (glides only, for safety reasons).

1P Series

UUC/4M chairs

UU series models are recommended for the following environments: industry, education, laboratory, clean room, static control and health care.

Each chair within this series features a different base to meet varied environmental and budget demands.
